19-year-old Alain Cassagnol was trying to spread some Christmas cheer, but all he got in return was handcuffs and a jail cell.
Early Monday, Cassagnol was caught by police in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina driving 103 in a 45 MPH zone. Officers pulled him over and arrested him for speeding.
When Cassagnol exited his vehicle, police smelled a strong odor of marijuana. It was at that point that the driver admitted he had a bag of weed stashed in the crotch of his pants.
In the baggie police found 5.4 grams of marijuana. In the car was a deodorizing spray that was scented like frankincense and myrrh, two aromatic plants that are known biblically for being the gifts brought by the three wisemen to Jesus’ birth. Unfortunately for Cassagnol, the seasonal spray did not hide the smell of his stash.
The teenager was arrested and is currently locked up in Horry County jail on $649 bond.
