Tacoma residents passed ballot initiative number 1, which sought to make marijuana offenses the lowest enforcement priority for the city.  Supporters f initiative 1 wanted to protec the rights of medical marijuana patients who could potentially face negative legal ramifications.

The city’s law enforcement officials claim that they never did target marijuana offenses, so the passing of ballot initiative 1 will not have an impact on the focus of their enforcement.
