On Thursday night, 30 bales of marijuana were found floating in the ocean off of the coast of Southern California. A boater spotted the bales floating around Marina del Rey.
The marijuana was estimated to be worth approximately half a million dollars on the street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Department worked with area lifeguards to fish out the bales of marijuana. After being removed from the water, it was turned over to the United States Customs and Border Patrol Agency.
